They said it couldn't be done: take the Sunrail Commuter Train to Disney. Well, proved that it can. We took the Sunrail to the Lynx Station in Orlando and then got on connection Lynx 50 bus which dropped us right off at the Disney Ticket and Transportation Center.

Approaching Sunrail Lake Mary Statio

We took a very early morning train from the Lake Mary, Florida Station. It was right on time.

Central Florida Zoo and Botanical

Located in Sanford, Florida. This is a nice (albeit a bit expensive) little zoo in Sanford. It's clean and the animals seem well taken care of.

Zoom Air Adventure Park

Located in the "front yard" of the Sanford, Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Center.

A Interesting Sculpture

We call him Sanford Guy at the zoo.

Children's Python - Sanford Zoo

The docent is showing a Children's Python at the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Center. The python is named after the guy that discovered by John George Children. It's not named Children's python because it's good for children. It does, however, stay very small.

The Central Florida Zoo Nature Walk

The nature walk in the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens is beautiful and a great way for newcomers like us to get close up view of Central Florida flora, fauna, and animals without getting swampy tennis shoes.

Giragge

For $5.00 you get up close to a giraffe at the Central Florida zoo to fee him a head of romaine lettuce. It wasn't worth the price for me, but I enjoyed watching someone else do it.

WDW Contemporary Hotel Cookie Displa

Christmas Day is a great day to go to Walt Disney World resort to see all of the Christmas decorations in the various resorts hotels. This gingerbread cookie display of the movie "Frozen" is larger than life size and made entirely of cookie dough!

WDW Contemporary Tile Mosaic Murals

One thing that I have always loved about all of the Disney Parks is their attention to detail. As a tile worker, myself, I can appreciate that great expense and detail they go to make their mosaics. This several story high mosaic at the WDW Contemporary Hotel is one of my most favorites.

Daytona Beach International Speedway

Growing up, I'm always heard about this world famous speedway, but I just didn't know how huge the facility was until I saw it on my drive to Daytona Beach, "The World's Most Famous Beach."

Welcome to Daytona Beach

Wouldn't feel welcome with a colorful greeting like this?

Zoom Air Zipline Daytona Beach
Daytona Beach
Drive and Park on the Beach

The beaches in Volusia County are comprised of sand that compacts very hard. Beach access by car has been a long standing tradition in Daytona Beach.

Daytona Beach Sand

Did you ever play with oobleck? Oobleck is made of cornstarch and water. It is hard as long as you are kneading it stays hard, but let it rest and it runs through your fingers like water. Daytona Beach sand is just like oobleck.

A City Park in Longwood, Florida

If you look closely you will see an owl on the branch of this large live oak tree. I had to stare at it a moment to determine that it's fake.

Pointsettias

I was surprised to learn when I moved to Central Florida that people can grown pointsettias outside in their yards! Now if that doesn't bring in the Christmas Spirit, what does?

Cinderalla's Castle at Christmastime

To enjoy the castle lights at Christmas time you can take a bus from Disney Springs to Epcot or the Disney Ticket and Transportation Center and take the monorail. This photo was taken while on the monorail. We were there on Christmas Day.

What used to be called "Downtown Disney" is Disney Springs. This photo was taken from the walkway south of the Sarasota Springs resort. If you want to enjoy a Disney atmosphere but get out of the crowds of Disney Springs, this it he perfect place for an enjoyable evening stroll.

I'm imagining the sun setting on the Gulf coast of Florida as I stand there and watch it from the Atlantic coast. It was a profound experience.
